Best Trampoline Basketball Hoop

A trampoline is a fun and exciting backyard toy, at least for the first few years. But as the kids grow older and get used to having a trampoline in the backyard, it can start to get stale.

Eventually, your kids might even decide to stop jumping on the trampoline altogether, preferring to stay home and play video games instead.

While that may not be the end of the world for most parents, for me, this is a strict no-no. I understand how much positivity and energy it brings to youth when he regularly uses it.

And naturally, when my kids started to nudge away from my trampoline, I started looking for an answer.

5 Best Trampoline Basketball Hoop

Getting tired of all the small talks? Let’s fix that right now.

Below you will find a complete review of some of the basketball hoops that I have tried in the past and which I believe can be a good investment for your backyard trampoline.

1- Trampoline Basketball Hoop with Mini Basketball

Trampoline Basketball Hoop with Mini Basketball
  • Material: Rigid Plastic Backboard, Mesh Hoop
  • Backboard Dimensions: 24 x 15.8 inches
  • Hoop Diameter: 9.5 inches
  • Basketball size: 6 inches
  • Assembly Required: Yes

If you have to invest in a basketball hoop for your trampoline to keep your kids invested in it, you might as well go with a good one. And perhaps no other basketball hoop is as strong or well-designed as the mini basketball hoop by the brand Zoomster.

The basketball hoop comes with a universal clamp which is compatible with 25 mm to 32 mm enclosure poles. Yes, I know, it’s not exactly universal, but since most of the backyard trampolines feature poles that fall within this range anyways, this should not be a major issue.

On the bright side, this clamp makes it so that the hoop can be installed in both curved and straight poles.

So, if your trampoline happens to have a weird design, you should not have any issues setting it up. Mine is a high-quality 12 feet trampoline by Skywalker, and installation took me only a couple of minutes.

The rigid plastic backboard dimension of this hoop is 24 x 15.8 inches, and the hoop diameter is 9.5 inches. And the basketball that comes with this hoop is 6 inches in diameter, which is perfect for the kids to enjoy on a trampoline with a basketball net.

You also get a couple of extra goodies with your purchase, and the thing I loved the most was the pump to inflate your basketball. This basketball hoop features a combination of good price, sturdy construction, and easy installation, making it a must-have for any trampoline owner.

What I Liked

  • Easy installation process
  • Compatible with most trampoline sizes
  • Includes a basketball pump
  • Comes at a great price

What I Didn’t Like

  • The basketball hoop might feel too large, making it less challenging to score points.
  • It might not suit larger trampolines

2- JumpTastic Trampoline Basketball Hoop

JumpTastic Trampoline Basketball Hoop
  • Material: Rigid Plastic Backboard, Mesh Hoop, Padded Rim
  • Backboard Dimensions: 29.5 x 20 inches
  • Hoop Diameter: 10.6 inches
  • Basketball size: 6 inches
  • Assembly Required: Yes

JumpTastic is a pretty well-known name for most trampoline owners. Their trampolines are some of the finest out there when you do not have a whole lot of moolah to spare. And when it comes to a basketball hoop, they might have one of the best options available out there.

This is the trampoline basketball hoop that I use at the moment of writing this review, and I absolutely adore it. It looks cool and is extremely sturdy with a rigid backboard. Of course, it is a bit pricey, which is why I gave it the second spot instead of the first. But if the quality is your main concern, this is your pick.

JumpTastic Trampoline Basketball Hoop

The trampoline hoop comes with a universal clamp that works with enclosure poles ranging from 25 to 38 inches in diameter. So even if you have a larger trampoline like a 16- or 17-feet model, this should work like a charm. The Zoomster trampoline basketball hoop might struggle in that regard.

Needless to say, the trampoline hoop features a breakaway design which means dunking on it will not be a problem. Its backboard features sturdy plastic construction, and the rim of the hoop comes with thick padding. So, you can dunk away to your heart’s content without worrying about damaging it.

You get a 6-inch mini rubber basketball with your purchase, along with a pump to inflate it when you buy this hoop. Its assembly should not take you long, even if you are doing it on your own. So, if you don’t mind the cost and want a cool and stylish hoop for your trampoline, you can pick this one up without a second thought.

What I Liked

  • Amazing build quality
  • Cool and stylish visuals on the backboard
  • Includes a rubber basketball and a pump
  • Easy setup and breakaway padded rim

What I Didn’t Like

  • A bit on the pricey side
  • The kids might hurt themselves with the ball if they are not careful.

3- Poncho Trampoline Basketball Hoop

  • Material: Plastic Backboard, Mesh Polyester Hoop, Padded Rim
  • Backboard Dimensions: 24 x 16 inches
  • Hoop Diameter: 12.6 inches
  • Assembly Required: Yes
  • Basketball size: 6.3 inches

If I had to choose between a solid backboard or a fabric backboard in my basketball hoop for trampolines, nine out of ten times, I would go with the former. But the truth is, trampoline basketball hoops with a solid backboard can be quite expensive, which makes them a bad choice for people on a tight budget.

However, this trampoline basketball hoop by the brand Poncho is a whole other matter. This one comes at almost half the price of the two other hoops that I talked about already, and it also goes on sale pretty often. So, if the money is tight, this basketball hoop might be just right.

And having tried it out for myself, I can say that this is not a bad choice at all. It features a good design and is made with sturdy materials that can survive the test of time without any issues. The backboard is made of solid plastic, which is pretty decent in quality, and the net is made of mesh polyester.

In addition, since the rim of the hoop is padded, you won’t have to worry about damaging it while dunking. The hoop diameter is a bit larger, capping out at 12.6 inches, but that’s not that big of a deal when you are getting a 6.3-inch rubber basketball to throw in it.

Assembling the hoop is also pretty easy and shouldn’t take you more than five to ten minutes. Everything you need to put it together comes included in the box with clear instructions. And as a bonus, the manufacturers also throw in a basketball pump to inflate it.

What I Liked

  • Comes at a great price
  • Large basketball and hoop design
  • Easy assembly
  • Compatible with most trampolines

What I Didn’t Like

  • Not as durable as high-end options
  • The backboard is pretty simple looking

4- Jump Slammer Trampoline Basketball Hoop

Jump Slammer Trampoline Basketball Hoop
  • Material: Fabric Backboard with Alloy Frame, Mesh Hoop, Padded Rim
  • Backboard Dimensions: 17.7 x 16.6 inches
  • Hoop Diameter: 8.5 inches
  • Basketball size: 5 inches
  • Assembly Required: No

Now, I don’t typically vouch for basketball hoops that feature a fabric backboard, and I have two reasons for it. For one thing, the ball does not bounce off it that well, which breaks the feel of the game for me. And secondly, they rarely last as long as a high-end hoop with a solid backboard.

However, trying out the Jump Slammer Trampoline Basketball Hoop opened my eyes to how far these basketball hoops have come. This hoop, in particular, is an amazing example of the potential that this design can have. But then again, it has one major flaw – it is expensive.

Since most people going with this type of hoop are trying to save money, this might not be an appealing option for most. However, the quality of the hoop is amazing, and if you want to pick this one up despite the price tag, I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

The backboard in this hoop has an alloy steel frame, which is primarily responsible for its higher price tag. This also makes sure the fabric stays firm and gives you a decent rebound to hit those three-pointers. The dimension of the backboard is around ‎17.7 x 16.6 inches, while the hoop is around 8.5 inches.

Yes, this is a bit smaller compared to most of the other hoops on this list, and the included ball is around 5 inches in size. But this should not be an issue for the kids who will be playing with it. The rim of the hoop comes with thick padding to ensure no damage and also breaks away if they decide to dunk on it.

What I Liked

  • Easy setup
  • Perfect for the kids
  • Features a clever design
  • Looks pretty stylish

What I Didn’t Like

  • Not that affordable for a fabric backboard hoop
  • The smaller hoop size might make it less appealing for adults

5- Botabee Trampoline Basketball Hoop with Mini Basketballs

Botabee Trampoline Basketball Hoop with Mini Basketballs
  • Materials: Waterproof Fabric Backboard, Padded Rim, Mesh Net
  • Backboard Dimensions: 10 x 8 inches
  • Hoop Diameter: 7 inches
  • Basketball size: 5 inches
  • Assembly Required: No

As I already said – when it comes to the best basketball hoops for trampolines, I tend to avoid those with a fabric backboard. But the truth is, if you are short on cash and want an easy solution, they can work wonders. Not everyone wants to spend a lot of money on a backyard toy that the kids will use.

And it’s okay. I used fabric basketball hoops myself as a kid, and they are extremely fun. Just make sure you are going with a decent option like this one by Botabee which I have used in my childhood. A poorly made fabric hoop can easily rip after a couple of months.

Of course, price is the main selling point of this basketball hoop, but another good thing about it is its extremely hassle-free installation. It comes with two pole caps with adjustable cords that you have to attach to two of your enclosure poles. You can then rip off the adhesive strips on the back of the backboard and attach them to the enclosure quite easily.

Botabee Trampoline Basketball Hoop with Mini Basketballs

The rim of the hoop is padded, which means even if your kids decide to dunk, the hoop should be fine. It is surprisingly well made, and once you put it on, it will stay on until you decide to take it out yourself. The basketball hoop is made of waterproof materials, which means you can keep it out in the rain without any worries.

With your purchase, you get two foam mini basketballs that are 5 inches in diameter. Since these are foam balls, you won’t have to worry about the kids hurting themselves while playing. Overall, this is a great deal for the level of entertainment value it brings to your little ones.

What I Liked

  • Easy to assemble or disassemble
  • Waterproof, washable fabric
  • Padded rim for dunking
  • Comes at a great price

What I Didn’t Like

  • Not as durable as a rigid basketball hoop
  • Mostly for kids – teenagers might not enjoy it

Trampoline Basketball Hoops Buying Guide

Trampoline Basketball Hoops Buying Guide

Basketball and trampoline added together can bring a lot of fun and excitement to your backyard. But only if you have the best of both worlds. A cheapo basketball hoop with a high-end trampoline does not go well.

So how do you decide? How do you make sure you are not wasting your money when you decide to buy a trampoline basketball hoop?

Well, with a keen eye and by focusing on a couple of key factors, picking out a basketball hoop becomes extremely easy. Let me talk a bit about these factors, and you can understand this for yourself.

Material Type

There are two types of basketball hoops out there for trampolines. One comes with a solid, plastic backboard, while the other features a fabric backboard. Personally, I prefer solid backboards as the rebound feels better, but if you are on a budget, fabric backboards can also be great.

Just make sure you do some research to figure out which material you want in your basketball hoop.

Model Compatibility

While most basketball hoops are designed to fit universally across all trampoline brands, there are always a few oddballs out there. So make sure you take a look at whether the hoop that you are buying is compatible with the trampoline you have in your backyard.

Price Range

In most cases, basketball hoops can cost around 70 to 100 dollars. But you can also find some hoops that cost as low as 30 dollars. Having a clear understanding of your budget can help you filter out the options that are out of your budget and give you an easier time coming to a decision

The Bottom Line

In my reviews, I tried to keep things as detailed as possible to make sure you are getting the best bang for your buck when you plan on buying a trampoline basketball hoop.

But I would suggest doing some research yourself before you commit to it.

Getting a clearer idea of what makes the best trampoline basketball hoop goes a long way in making sure you pick up a good one for your backyard trampoline. Everybody has different tastes, and what I love might not be right for you.

If you are on a budget, going with a fabric backboard hoop like the Botabee Trampoline Basketball Hoop with Mini Basketballs can give you a good value on your investment.

But if money is not an issue, I would recommend giving the JumpTastic Trampoline Basketball Hoop a try. I have tried both and can say that either one will make a solid pickup.

That’s all I have for you about trampoline basketball hoops. Hopefully, you now have a clearer picture of what you would want out of your investment. Good Luck!
